ISLAMABAD: An unusual sight was witnessed at a local tandoor (open hearth) in Islamabad where hundreds of election documents and forms were found to be in use at the shop.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan spokesperson Nadeem Qasim, the appearance of such forms at the shop was a conspiracy against the commission and part of an effort to make the general election disputed.

Election forms tandoor ECP

The tandoor, where election documents were found, is located in the F-6 area. The residents were shocked on Sunday when they bought bread from a tandoor and received them wrapped in forms and other documents apparently issued by the ECP for use in the elections.

One of the forms was titled ‘Reporting Format for Election Training’ dated July 9 that shows the number of male and female presiding and assistant presiding officers who attended the training.

The ECP spokesperson insisted that forms could not be leaked and it was possible that someone created its facsimile to malign the election commission.
