1 out of 3 gas pipelines restored for supply: MD Sui Northern
RAHIM YAR KHAN: Repair works of gas pipelines blown away by miscreants is continued for the second day here, whilst the MD Sui Northern, Arif Hameed has told that the SNGPL system will be switched to normal in the evening on Tuesday – ARY News reports.
In his exclusive talk with ARY News, Arif Hameed told that among the 3 pipelines which were blown away through powerful blasts, one with 36-inch diameter has been restored for gas supply, whereas 2 other supply lines will be repaired sometime in the evening today.
He further told that 2 different committees have been formed for probing into the blasting of gas supply lines, which will present their reports within 4 days.
The MD Sui Northern claimed that the number of security personnel monitoring gas installations have also been increased after the incident.
He mentioned the blasting of pipelines as extremely coward act of miscreants and labeled it as open terrorism.
Earlier, blasts at 3 major gas pipelines in Rahimyar Khan had disrupted gas supply to industries in several parts of Punjab.
