12-year-old injured in Indian firing along border

SIALKOT: A 12-year-old boy was wounded when Indian Border Security Force opened fire in Pakistani sector along Working Boundary in Sialkot, ARY News reported Sunday.

The Indian forces opened fire in Nakyal sector, provoking tension in the area.

Pakistani forces effectively retaliated and silenced the Indian guns.

The South Asian rivals, who have fought two wars over Muslim-majority Kashmir, blame each other for an upsurge in firing and shelling that started in October last year.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif recently accused India of pursuing a low-intensity war with unprovoked firing on the international borders.

Scores of villagers have fled their homes due to firing along border by Indian forces on the Pakistan side.
