122 nomination papers for National Assembly, 539 for Provincial Assembly filed in Balochistan

QUETTA: So far a total of 122 nomination papers have been filed to Election Commission of Pakistan, 16 National Assembly seats and 539 for 51 provincial assembly seats in Balochistan.

The forms are submitted in the Election Commission office as follows:

  • For National Assembly seats reserved for minorities and women 144 forms have been submitted.
  • 29 candidates have filed papers for Balochistan Assembly seats reserved for minorities and women.

Niaz Baloch, Provincial Election Commissioner explained that returning officers were collecting nomination forms from independent candidates and ticket-holders of different political parties.

Tahir Mehmood Khan of the Balochistan Awami Party said, “Previously the government has been unsuccessful for resolving the issues of the province. However, we got only four months in hand and we tried our level best to eradicate problems counting in education, health and water related issues.”

According to Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Chairman of the Hazara Democratic Party, “The real representatives of public will be elected in the next election as the previous government had failed to serve people. They should be ousted in the polls.”
