14 years old Hira Akber from Swat nominated for International Children Peace Prize

Swat: Hira Akber a 14 years old Child Right activist nominated by the Kids Rights Foundation, Netherlands for International Peace Prize 2017 from Pakistan. 

Seventh grade student, Hira, studies in a local school but has made raising her voice for the rights of children her life aim.

“I am the speaker of the Parliament from Child’s Right Committee in where we have discussion over the rights of children. I have been working in child’s right committee since my childhood.”

156 children from around the world participated out of which only 5 got selected.

“I have complete faith that I am going to win this award. I do a lot of hard work, a lot of speeches for children’s rights. I tried that I get selected in it and I have succeed so far. I am on number 1 in the top 5. I will pray that I win it.”

She has formed a society in her school aiming for results through debates, competitions and storytelling catering problems faced by orphans hoping to become a lecturer one day.

“In the future I will become a lecturer and work in social sectors”

Hira believes the betterment of the society lies only in the development children. Investment in the world’s future is critical for world peace.
