140 suspects, including 40 Afghans, arrested in countrywide crackdown

KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies in a countrywide crackdown detained around 140 suspects including 40 Afghan nationals during last 24 hours, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Special Unit in a raid in Hassan Garhi area of Peshawar arrested four members of an outlawed group. The law enforcement personnel also captured hate material and anti-Pakistan pamphelets from the possession of the arrested men.

Police and intelligence agencies in a joint search operation in various parts of Charsadda arrested 30 suspects.

The law enforcers captured six Kalashnikovs, two rocket launchers, two hand grenades, 10 pistols, six guns and thousands of cartridges from the arrested men.

Police in Hafizabad district of Punjab detained five suspects and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.

Police arrested 50 suspects in various parts of Hyderabad and 20 from Jamshoro and locked them up at CIA Centre and Market police station lockup.

The FIA personnel arrested 11 Afghan nationals in Karachi, who were illegally residing in the city.
