1st ODI: Pakistan to face off Sri Lanka at Sharjah

SHARJAH: The first One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played tomorrow at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, ARY News reported.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium is a much familiar venue for Pakistan, it can be termed as the home ground for them, having some golden memories at the location. Green shirts also have good winning record on the ground. The two teams have played 33 matches at the venue. Pakistan have won 20 out of them while Sri Lanka stand victorious in 12 matches.

The match will start at 3 P.M as per local time; dew is likely to affect the side bowling second, as it has done late in both T20 games. 

While addressing a press conference at the unveiling ceremony of trophy in Sharjah, Captain of National cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq said that ” Batsmen’s role is important to produce good results, the top six batsmen needs to perform well.”

Captain of Sri Lanka, Angelo Matthews said that “When Dilshan is at the other end, the bowlers are always under pressure, because they are trying to avoid areas where he scores. That sometimes makes them forget about me and they come a little easier at me, allowing me to score in my areas.”
Surprisingly, the two teams is going to play an ODI about 1.5 years, however Sri Lanker dominated the last series played between them.
