205 Pakistani pilgrims died during Hajj this year: minister

He was briefing the National Standing Committee on Religious Affairs on Wednesday.

He informed the NA body that seven Pakistanis were still missing. As many as, he said, 102 had died in the Mina stampede, six in the crane crash and 97 of diseases.

“The ministry will pay a compensation of Rs500,000 to the heirs of each deceased pilgrim,” said the religious minister.

Of 97 who died of diseases, the minister said most of them elderly in weak health.

It may be noted here that 143,336 Pakistanis had gone on pilgrimage this year.
