2,090 people fell prey to sectarian attacks in 7 years, Senate told

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Baleegh-ur-Rehman told the Senate on Wednesday that a total of 2,090 people were killed in the country on sectarian grounds in last seven years, ARY News reported.

The Senate session was held with Deputy Chairman Sabir Baloch in te chair. The state minister told the Upper House that new policy on national security had provision to keep eye on activities of all religious seminaries.

The government must have all the data of religious seminaries, he demanded.

MQM's Tahir Mashadi said Lashkar-e-Jhangvi was secured in Punjab. "The house should be told about government efforts in taking action against terrorist organisations," the Senator asked.
