Jets pound militants’ hideouts in NWA; 22 killed

Pakistan’s military has launched an offensive in NWA tribal region codenamed Operation Zarb-i-Azb in June last year.

Pakistan Air Force jet fighters pounded hideouts of terrorists in tehsil Dattakhel of North Waziristan region.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 22 militants were killed in the attack. A cache of arms and munitons was also destroyed in the attack.

Attack on check-post

In another incident, the militants attacked a security forces check-post injuring seven soldiers.

The militants fired rockets at Khajoori checkpost in South Waziristan tribal area in which seven soldiers were injured, security sources said.

The military in the counter attack killed eight militants including a key commander.
