ISLAMABAD: In all, total 30 bodies including Junaid Jamshed’s out of 47 victims of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane that crashed into a hillside north of Islamabad en route to the capital from Chitral, were identified, ARY News reported on Thursday.

However, 17 more bodies were yet to be identified, official sources confirmed.

State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has already said that the process of body identification was likely to complete by December 17.

After the body of Junaid Jamshed was identified with the help of facial X-ray and his dental history, Chaudhry has requested family members of the victims to come forward with X-rays and dental history reports of the loved ones killed in the PK-661 plane crash incident.

On the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, special arrangements were also made to transport families of the victims back to their cities along with the bodies.

Junaid Jamshed along with 46 others died on December 7 when a PIA plane carrying them crashed near Havelian in Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, making the incident the newest episode in the country’s disappointing history of aviation disasters.
