ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government and a Chinese company signed an agreement on Tuesday to build a 300-megawatt coal fired power plant in Gwadar.

The project will be established under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The agreement to this effect was signed between Private Power and Infrastructure Board and China Communications Construction Company.

This should be noted that a China is also building a new Hub coal-fired power plant in Balochistan.

Chairman of a Chinese power enterprise Wang Binghua said the power plant would benefit both the people and the government, after its completion in 2019, in mitigating the power outages and help move the wheel of the economy.
