The owner of Future Concern Asim Malik told Mubasher Lucman that after funding the PML-N’s Gujranwala rally, Rana Mashhood ordered him to bring evidence against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan with the consent of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
“It was shocking for me as till 2012 I thought of Shahbaz Sharif as an honest man”, said Malik.
The Petition
Reminiscing his ordeal, Malik claimed that Mashhood on his own affidavit filed a petition against him of accepting bribe from a lawyer. Despite the fact that there was no F.I.R against him, the petition against him was filed in the court of Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi, he said. The same Judge had once wanted me to finance his son’s scholarship which I had refused, Malik said.
Moving ahead, Asim Malik claimed that the Judge on the very first hearing ordered him to surrender his passport, tax copies, client data besides putting his name on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The Judge also told him to appear on every hearing. Upon his one absence, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him, he said. It was astonishing as yet no criminal charge was proved against me, he said.
” I got my bail from the Supreme Court,” Malik said.
THE ARREST ATTEMPT
Asim Malik revealed that after getting the bail, next day he was resting in Islamabad’s Serena Hotel when Police raided the hotel for his arrest on a terrorism charge. His wife contacted IG Islamabad who was completely ignorant about the move and it was revealed that without informing him, Punjab Police was in federal capital for Malik’s arrest.
Punjab Police was sent back on IG Islamabad’s behest but the F.I.R of terrorism charge was there.
35 CASES IN A DAY
Not knowing what to do, I moved a petition in the court of Judge Naqvi citing his partiality, requested the court to let any other judge hear his case, Malik said.
Upon which the judge passed an order according to Section 154 resulting in all applications against him turning into F.I.R. Which made almost 35 cases registered against him in a single day, he said.
