Nisar says 65,000 names removed from the ECL

He said 65,000 names of individuals had been taken off from the Exit Control List (ECL). He also said a separate policy would be framed for foreigners in this regard.

The minister said the names of 59,603 persons had been removed from the passport blacklist, of that 22,491 names were deleted, 9,660 were shifted to the Passport Control List (PCL) and 27,452 were placed on the Visa Control List (VCL).

He announced to launch SMS Raabta service to facilitate people in getting passports and CNIC from one place.

The interior minister said both passport and CNIC systems are being simplified to facilitate people.

He said initially 13 centers will be set-up in the country. He said that delivery of passports at homes would be initiated from Islamabad/Rawalpindi next month and will be expanded to the entire country in a span of six months.
