Blast at Tableeghi Markaz kills 8, 51 injured

PESHAWAR: At least 8 people were killed while 51 others were injured as a result of a massive blast inside a Tableeghi Markaz at Charsadda Road here in the evening on Thursday – ARY News reports.

According to details, a powerful blast rocked the Charsadda Road a few moments ago, as a consequence 8 people were killed and some 51 were injured who had gathered to offer prayers and attend the weekly religious gathering at the markaz.

SP Cantt told that at least 51 people were injured who were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital by the rescue workers.

Meanwhile, authorities have imposed emergency in all the hospitals of the provincial capital, whilst casualties are also being feared as it was a massive blast, which was heard at far flung places.

Our correspondent has reported that due to large number of people injured in the blast, hospital authorities have also requested people for donating blood for the wounded.

After shifting the injured to hospitals Maghrib prayers were again offered at the Tableeghi Markaz after.

Moreover, KP Health Minister Shaukat Yousufzai has also reached the hospital.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials after collecting evidence from the site have told that the explosive material was brought inside a ghee can, which was placed beside a pillar inside the building.

AIG Shafqat Mehmood told that the blast was carried out using a timed device.
