ARY News files reply in SC regarding news on Ziarat Residency Attack
KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday resumed the hearing of the case regarding the news about the Ziarat Residency Attack aired in a program of ARY News.
According to details, CEO of ARY News Salman Iqbal was also present at the court during the hearing of the case.
The attorney of the ARY News, Baz Muhammad Kakar took the stance in the court the news aired during the program on August 13, 2013 was meant to aware the public. It was not at all meant to support any terrorist activity.
Baz Muhammad Kakar filed the reply in the SC that whatever happened that was not the point of view of the anchor and nor were any malafide intentions behind that.
It was stated that in fact the management of the ARY News has always played a vital journalistic role for the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.
The SC after the resume filed by ARY News, issued notices to the Attorney General and Advocate General Balochistan to appear before the apex court in the next hearing.
The next hearing of the case will be held on December 3 in Islamabad, under the principal bench of the SC.
