ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Ministry has summoned Indian high commissioner (HC) over refusal of visas to 500 Pakistani pilgrims to visit shrine in Ajmer Sharif, Rajhastan, ARY News reported Friday.
As many as 500 pilgrims from Pakistan were to visit shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer Sharif but Indian government denied visas to them.
Pakistan Foreign Office summoned the Indian High Commissioner and registered its protest.
According to FO spokesperson, citizens of both the countries could visit religious/worship places under 1974 Act. It happened fourth time in a year that Pakistani citizens are denied visa by the Indian government, the spokesperson said, adding such steps were disappointing.
