PESHAWAR: Tribesmen are fleeing from the militants infested North Waziristan region as the shadow of a military operation hovering over the tribal region bordering Afghanistan, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

According to government officials, FATA Secretariat has released Rs. 85 million to FATA Disaster Management Authority for providing emergency services to the displaced families.

People fleeing in droves from North Waziristan tribal region ahead of a likely military operation in the area, which is termed as hotbed of militancy in Pakistan.

According to reports around 50,000 tribesmen have migrated from the region. The government was taking steps to provide essential services to the displaced persons, government officials said.
