526 lawmakers fail to submit assets’ details

ISLAMABAD: As many as 526 lawmakers have not submitted details of their assets and liabilities with the Election Commission of Pakistan despite last date for the submission of details having being expired today, ARY News reported.

However, 648 lawmakers including PTI chief filed their assets’ details with the ECP.

The election commission had given September 30 deadline to the parliamentarians to file their assets details.

Under Section 42-A of the Representation of Peoples’ Act, 1976 and Section 25-A of the Senate (Elections) Act, 1975, all members of the parliament and provincial assemblies are required to submit with the ECP yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their own as well as spouses and dependents by Sept 30.
