KARACHI: Several areas of Karachi received light rain, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
The rain forecast of Pakistan Meteorological Department came true as drizzle reported in different parts of the metropolis today.
The areas which received showers included Shahrah-e-Faisal, Shah Faisal Colony and Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The weather department had also predicted snowfall and rainfall in mountainous areas of the country, which will drop the mercury opening a spell of cold and frosty weather.
It is pertinent to mention that rains lashed the metropolis last week due to which seven people were killed.
PMD stated that rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at number of places in Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Islamabad, upper Punjab and Kashmir, scattered places in South Punjab, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Sindh for the next 24 hours.
“Moderate to heavy snowfall is also expected in Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions of Balochistan. Heavy snowfall is also expected in Chitral, Shangla, Naran, Kaghan and Hazara division. Intermittent heavy snowfall is also likely in Murree and Galliyat hills,” the weather department stated.
