A.R.Rahman to collaborate with UN for International day of happiness

The above stars, including Rahman have launched the #HappySoundsLike campaign by partnering up with music streaming service ‘MixRadio’. The international campaign will end with a high this week when the campaign would launch a playlist featuring all above artists’ contributing with songs. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the world body is “using the universal language of music to show solidarity with the millions of people around the world suffering from poverty, human rights abuses, humanitarian crises and the effects of environmental degradation and climate change.”

 

Music fans can post the song which makes them the most happiest and vibrant with #HappySoundsLike. On 20th march, Cody Simpsons will spotlight 5 tracks which will be included in the playlist. This campaign aims to provide smiles across millions of people worldwide and to show off the power of music in bridging the gap between people from different regions of the world. Cody Simpson, who is leading the campaign, commented , “I am really pleased to be part of such an amazing campaign to raise awareness of International Day of Happiness. I hope everyone gets behind the day and shares the track that makes them happiest! I will be choosing five tracks the general public suggest to be part of the official playlist, #HappySoundsLike, launching on Friday 20th March for you to all listen to”.

The playlist will be available at www.happysoundslike.com. The campaign would be launched by a promotional video in which most of these stars will be seen singing to raise awareness of the international happiness day.  Established by the UN General Assembly in 2012, the UN acknowledges the fact that “the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal.”
