Chief Justice of Pakistan arrived to Supreme Court today from the entrance at Constitution Avenue.

A five-member bench of the apex court hearing a petition against any possible extra-constitutional act yesterday ordered PAT and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf protesters to vacate the Constitution Avenue.

After the court orders the capital police authorities contacted with the organizers of PAT sit-in and a track of the road was got vacated from the participants without any resistance.

The participants of PAT and PTI protests have occupied the Constitution Avenue for last 11 days to press for their demands.

The contingents of Frontier Constabulary and Punjab Police have been deployed at the Constitution Avenue.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali last night visited the area and issued orders to the city administration and the law enforcement agencies for a possible intervention to meet any emergency situation while vacating the road from the protesters.

The Constitution Avenue is considered one of the most important zones in Islamabad as a number of key government buildings situated along the road including the Presidency, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the Supreme Court of Pakistan and other government buildings. The diplomatic enclave in Pakistan’s federal capital hosting foreign embassies also lies close to the area.

The federal capital authorities have declared the all important nerve centre of Pakistani state as Red Zone with maximum security.
