KARACHI: Responding to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) allegations, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA-elect Aamir Liaquat Hussain on Monday said that he is ready for any sort of scrutiny in all the constituencies of Karachi, ARY News reported.

MQM, in a press conference on Saturday, had alleged that there was widespread rigging during the July 25 general elections resulting in their defeat in a number of Karachi constituencies considered their strongholds.

“I just wish to say that they (MQM-P) take one constituency, open each and every ballot box, recount all votes, be it from my constituency, but after this process, none should cry foul,” Aamir Liaquat said during ARY News show 11th Hour.

Aamir Liaquat, who won from Karachi’s NA-245 constituency against MQM-P’s Farooq Sattar, also invited the on-panel MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari to become part of the scrutiny process.

About his party’s possible alliance with MQM-P in the center, he said that PTI, being the largest party in the parliament, just wants to take smaller parties onboard.

It is pertinent to note here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) grabbed 12 out of 21 National Assembly seats from Karachi in the July 25 general elections.

MQM, however, managed to grab four seats including the NA-255 constituency where its chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui was contesting against PTI’s Mehmood Moulvi.
