ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday in the Rs220 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) import scam, ARY News reported.

The NAB had also sought details of the assets owned by former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in connection with the investigation of the LNG contract. The former PM had been directed to submit all details during ongoing probe of the accountability watchdog. NAB sources said that Abbasi had been handed over a questioner during his last appearance before a joint investigation team of the bureau.

The NAB had also warned Abbasi of sentencing him if he didn’t cooperate with the authority. It is pertinent to mention here that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had been avoiding to appear before the NAB. Sources said that he only once appeared before the NAB since investigations launched against him.
