FAISALABAD: State Minister for Power Abid Sher Ali on Sunday accused former president and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari of deploying old tactics to poach lawmakers from various political parties through political horse-trading.

Speaking to press here, the ruling party leader said Zardari has initiated a sordid campaign to garner support and seats in the upcoming Senate elections.

“Zardari has been offering money overwhelmingly to the lawmakers,” Ali said.

Deploring change of Balochistan Chief Minister, he said the change intended to weaken PML-N political power.

He said a gang of thieves disguising themselves as politicians has been cooking up conspiracy against the PML-N government.

On the occasion, the minister slammed Imran Khan’s claims that he did not use Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government-owned helicopters for his personal use, welcoming the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s inquiry into the matter.

Moreover, he lambasted the opponents for joining hands against the ruling party under a malicious campaign. He urged the anti-graft body to probe into corruption allegations on Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed and PTI chairman Imran Khan.
