Abid warns govt institutions of power disconnection

LAHORE: State Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali has said that the government institutions have been issued notices for the recovery of Rs 5 billion outstanding amount and ruled out any possibility of ‘escape’, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Abid Sher Ali warned that the power supply to the government departments with non-payment of bills will be disconnected.

He told that notices have been issued to the defaulting institutions for the recovery of Rs 5 billion and no one will be given any relaxation in the payment of bills.

The minister also suggested Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan to postpone the January 17 protest and resolve the issues through dialogue.

Moreover, he announced Rs 2.5 million compensation for the bereaved family of an SDO, who was killed while on duty and to bear the educational expenses of his children.
