Following Bilal Lashari’s immensely successful Waar, which broke records and spurned the revival of Pakistani film cinema, Dr.Hassan Waqas Rana is all set to direct and produce the sequel Waar 2.

The director spoke to a local newspaper and confirmed the fact that the cast of the film, including vector actor Shaan Shahid, Bilal Ashraf and Ayub Khoso would depart for London. Waqar also revealed that joining the local cast would be international stars as well. “The first spell will be shot with these three actors in London and Prague. We are also in talks with different international actors and will reveal details as soon as things get finalised.”

Not only that, the film would later be shot across the world in several countries, namely US, Canada, Turkey, UK and Russia.

Industry veterans Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed might also join the cast and Dr.Hassan Waqar Rana confirmed that he had asked the actors to star in the film. He however, also stated that their availability in the film would depend on the actors’ availability.

Waar, which was released in October 2013, captivated the local audience with its superior technicality as well as impressive plot. Actors who starred in the first installment were Shaan Shahid in the lead role, Shamoon Abbasi, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ayesha Khan, Meesha Shafi and Ali Azmat in important roles. Waar was the story of an agent by the name of Mujtaba (played by Shaan), immensely skilled in combat, who has a bone to pick with a terrorist (played by Shamoon Abbasi). A dedicated police officer Ehtesham (played by Hamza Ali Abbasi) and his sister, played by Ayesha Khan, all join hands to thwart extremists’ plans to destabilize Pakistan.

Due to the resounding success of Waar, fans and movie buffs are eagerly anticipating Waar 2 to hit theaters.
