ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that advanced technology is essential for the progress of a country, ARY News reported on Thursday.

The prime minister was addressing 3-G and 4-G licences awarding ceremony in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that his government will give a Pakistan moving on the path of prosperity to the people after four years.

He vowed to end corruption, terrorism and the energy crisis in the country.

Pakistan held the auction of 3-G and 4-G spectrum on April 22nd. The country generated around 1.18 billion dollars hefty sum in the auction.

Prime Minister Sharif said that the transparency of the auction has been recognized globally.
 
"We had promised to guide the country into an era of advanced technlogies in our election manifesto and with 3-G and 4-G auction we have fulfilled our promise," the prime minister said.

The government will continue to provide facilities to the people of Pakistan through its positive policies, he added.
