Afghan teenager killed by flat owner in Karachi over Rs25 dispute
KARACHI: An Afghan teenager was allegedly killed by a flat-owner in Karimabad area of the metropolis after he reportedly asked for Rs25 for cleaning the flat’s staircase, police said.
Azizabad Station House Officer (SHO) Jamal Leghari said that Noor Agha – the 15-year-old Afghan boy – allegedly killed by flat owner Ayaz Malik Jeewa who is at large.
Ayaz Malik, the flat owner and resident of old Karimabad, opened fire at the Afghan boy when he was asked to pay by the deceased, police said.
The slain boy was an Afghan scavenger, resident of Machar Colony of Sohrab Goth, tended to collect garbage from localities in Karimabad
The police sources said that the slain boy along with another boy, Naimat, washed staircase of a flat owned by Ayaz Malik and demanded Rs25 for their services which enraged Malik who allegedly shot the boy before fleeing from the crime scene.
However, there were no details whether any argument or possible brawl took place between the duo.
The boy was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in an injured condition where he succumbed to the injuries.
The Azizabad police have lodged a murder case against the suspect on complaint of the brother of the deceased. According to police, efforts are underway for arrest of the culprit.
