KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team’s star all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi said on Tuesday that he is deeply saddened over media’s behavior with the cricket team, ARY News reported.

The cricketer who was a constant part of the playing eleven in the Cricket World Cup squad called in an ARY News show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’ and after apologizing to the nation for the team’s dismal performance in the cricketing world’s biggest event came down hard upon media for ‘uselessly’ criticizing the team.

Afridi also praised the team captain Misbah-ul-Haq’s press conference and his response to criticism on media by former cricketers and Television anchors.

Misbah in a press conference after his return denied all rumours regarding fights, differences within team and even took a jab at a Television cricketing ‘expert’ for criticizing him.

“They should have supported us, the Pakistan cricket squad is not a squad of 16 players on a mission but it represents the whole population of 18, 20 crore Pakistani people, Misbah is not just the captain of those 16 guys but the whole Pakistan”, said Afridi.
