Afridi plays exhibition match for IDPs

BANNU: Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi participated in an exhibition cricket match for the people displaced by the Zarb-e-Azb military offensive in North Waziristan.

The match was contested between Shahid Afridi XI and Pakistan Army. Thousands of spectators had gathered to watch the match between the two sides.

Afridi brought smiles to the crowd by displaying his batting skills.  He was dismissed after scoring 45 runs for his team.

Director General of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa, in an exclusive talk with ARY News, said that national heroes want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the displaced persons whereas many people want to give donations to help the affected persons.

He added that the nation has decided to rid the country from terrorism.
