Afridi returns as Pakistan take on South Africa today

FATULLAH: Shahid Afridi will make his return to the Pakistani side today as they will take on South Africa in the warm-up match of the World T20 here at Fatullah on Wednesday, ARY News reports.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated the New Zealand side in their first warm-up game after good showing with the ball as well with the bat. Umar Gul destroyed the Kiwi batting side whereas Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez contributed half centuries to the team.

After helping the Green Shirts score historical wins against India and Bangladesh in the Asia Cup earlier this month, Shahid Afridi will also be returning to the side as well. Head coach of the Pakistani side Moin Khan has also given the green signal for Afridi to play in the match.

“Warm-up matches have helped the side in preparing for the World T20”, Moin Khan said.

The team has practised for hours before their match against the Proteas. Sources have reported that the Green Shirts players are fit for the match.
