Afridi was accompanied by large number of security officials upon his arrival to the city.
It should be noted that Pakistan team had already arrived in the country two days before his return to the country.
His fans welcomed him while holding placards in his favour while others expressed their anger by chanting slogans against him.

The Pakistan side failed to qualify for the semi-final stage of the World Twenty20 after losing their Super-10 matches to arch-rivals India, Australia and New Zealand. They only managed to beat Bangladesh in the campaign.
