Akthar also added that youth of both countries need to stand up and question the authorities of both countries.

Earlier, Akthar had expresses his sadness at the news of Salman Khan being sentenced to five years in prison in the blackbucks poaching case.

“Really sad to see my friend Salman Khan sentenced for five years, but the law must take its course and we got to respect the decision of honourable court of India,” he had tweeted.

“But I still think punishment is too harsh, but my heart goes to his family and fans. I am sure he will be out soon,” Shoaib Akhtar tweeted.

It all started when Afridi tweeted on Tuesday saying: ‘the situation is appalling and worrisome in Indian-occupied Kashmir’. The tweet from Afridi sparked fury among the Indians who started bashing the cricket star. The issue was further compounded when ex-Indian opener Gautam Gambhir responded to Afirdi with some offensive remarks.

Shahid Afridi also tweeted about Kashmir a few days ago after security forces in Kashmir killed 13 terrorists, and said “innocents” were being shot down in Kashmir.

“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other international bodies and why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed? (sic)” the cricketer had tweeted.
