KARACHI: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has contracted an injury and he might miss a warm match of World T20, starting March 16, ARY News reported.
Afridi had contracted a groin injury during the Asia Cup match against Bangladesh. To date, he couldn’t regain his complete fitness. Sources told that Afridi will not fly to Bangaldesh along with the team, mainly due to fitness reasons.
Trainers have barred Afridi from participating in practice sessions for the time being, however, Pakistan Cricket Board is hopeful that the star tall-rounder will be completely fit by March 21, when Pakistan and India clash at their first game in World T20 in Dhaka.
Pakistan will play two warm-up matches – first against the New Zealand on March 17 and second against the South Africa on March 19 – before taking on India on March 21 in their first game of the tournament.
