Ahsan Iqbal vows to boost IT sector

LAHORE:Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that it is not possible to provide government service to every single citizen and the government is planning to create employment opportunities in private sector, ARY News reported. 

Speaking to media in Lahore on Tuesday along with the IT professionals and entrepreneurs from the US at the Arfa Information Technology Park (AITP), Ahsan Iqbal said that there is wide choice of investment available in IT sector of the country and the PML-N government’s economic philosophy believed in the contribution of the private sector.

“Pakistan soon will get the status of mini market in the field of information technology”, said the Minister.

Ahsan Iqbal said that IT provides an easy solution of complex tasks, Pakistan can tackle several issues including corruption, energy crisis and law and order by making progress in IT. He said that the IT industry has performed very well over the past three years adding that the country has earned a revenue of over two billion dollars and some 1800 IT companies are working at present in the country.

On the occasion, US based IT professionals and entrepreneurs from the Silicon Valley, Huston and Chicago Pakistani expatriates expressed their commitment to contribute in the growth of the IT sector and economic progress of Pakistan.
