Ahsan urges US to respect Pakistani laws on Shakeel Afridi's issue

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal has said that the United States (US) should respect Pakistani laws regarding the issue of Dr Shakeel Afridi, whilst he told that the Government is focusing on agriculture, dairy and fisheries sectors in order to eliminate poverty from the country – ARY News reports.

Talking to media at a workshop here on Tuesday, he stated that Pakistan seeks unconditional US aid. He added that the US will have to provide access to its markets and aid unconditionally.

Earlier to this while addressing the workshop, the Federal Planning Minister told that poverty is a major problem of ours and the Government is devising a comprehensive program for its elimination, this program will be implemented by the Planning Commission of Pakistan.

He elaborated that small loans and industry are being promoted for this purpose and PM's Youth Loan Scheme is an important part of this program.

Ahsan further told that the Government is striving to bring a new revolution in agriculture, so that poverty could be completely removed through agriculture produce.
