AJK Gov't sends several trucks of relief goods to Tharparkar

MUZAFFARABAD: The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has dispatched several trucks of relief goods to the famine-hit Tharparkar district of Sindh, whilst Prime Minister AJK, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed himself supervised the dispatching of these goods today – ARY News reports.

According to details, the AJK Government apart from trucks loaded of edibles, drinking water, medicines and other goods, also sent relief cheques worth millions and a 22-member special medical team.

Talking to media on this occasion, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed said that the AJK Government is standing beside the people of Tharparkar in this difficult hour of need and it will do all as per its capacity for the relief of famine-victims of Thar Desert.

He stated the AJK Government is striving for the timely aid of suffering people there and will not refrain from helping the Tharparkar affectees in any way.

Majeed also expressed immense grief over the deaths of hundreds of children in the famine-hit district.
