AJK president apprises British MP on atrocities in IOK
ISLAMABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan has said India is attempting to change the demography of Occupied Kashmir by converting Kashmiris into a minority.
Speaking to media along with British Member of Parliament Tony Lloyd, the AJK president said New Delhi will not succeed in its nefarious designs to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris by resorting to such cowardly acts.
Mr Masood said scores of people of Azad Kashmir were martyred due to unprovoked Indian firing at the Line of Control. He urged India to abide by the 2003 ceasefire agreement.
He further said the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has recently published a comprehensive report highlighting the draconian laws of India in Occupied Kashmir.
Apprising about his recent visit to the USA, the AJK president said that he effectively raised the Kashmir issue at the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) contact group for Kashmir.
He also thanked Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for effectively raising the Kashmir issue at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Speaking on the occasion, Tony Lloyd said the issue of Kashmir cannot be resolved by use of force and dialogue is the only way forward.
