WORCESTER: Saeed Ajmal’s 13- wicket haul blessed Worcestershire a 72-run victory over Essex in a four-day match played at County Ground, New Road, Worcester, ARY News reported.
In the second inning Saeed Ajmal took his career best 7-19 helping Worcestershire to return at the top spot of Division Two.
Worcestershire set the target of 209 for Essex, only six more runs than they managed in their first innings, but a combination of Ajmal's magical spell demolished Essex’s batting order completely.
Both coaches, Paul Grayson and Steve Rhodes of Essex and Worcestershire praised Saeed Ajmal for his magical spell. Grayson labeled him as "A world-class spinner," while Rhodes said “Saeed showed what a wonderful spinner he is”.
