Aleem Khan directs civic bodies officials to recover ‘every inch of govt-owned land’

LAHORE: Senior Minister Punjab  Aleem Khan directed the senior officers of Local Bodies Department to adopt comprehensive strategy to remove encroachments in Punjab and establish proper monitoring system at division level, ARY News reported.

Starting the promised anti-encroachment drive, Aleem Khan directed the officers to make coordinated efforts and take in loop all the concerned departments of federal and provincial governments to ensure success of this drive.

“Connections of telephone, gas and electricity of illegal occupants should be discontinued on permanent basis and it should be ensured that no such facility be provided to them in future,” said Aleem Khan.

The senior minister said that removal of encroachements is a primary objective of PTI’s 100-day plan and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has ordered the strict compliance for removal of encroachments.

He directed that some relaxation should be given to widows, orphans and very poor people otherwise no one should be spared in the drive.

The minister directed LDA and other civic agencies to work with full zeal and get 100 percent results to recover the government land from culprits and evolve such strategy which can stop this practice in future.

He asked the officers to ensure every inch of government land is not in the occupation of land grabbers and no concession should be given to anyone in this regard,

The senior minister directed the administration and police authorities to maintain law and order and avoid any untoward situation.
