Ali Haider, Shahbaz Taseer held captive near Pak-Afghan border, claims Rana
LAHORE: Law Minister of Punjab, Rana Sanaullah has claimed that the sons of former premier, Yousuf Raza Gillani and late Salman Taseer are under the custody of Taliban near the Pak-Afghan border. He added that the Government and security institutions are making efforts for the release of Shahbaz Taseer and Ali Haider Gillani – ARY News reports.
Talking to media after the meeting of Punjab Cabinet, Rana Sanaullah told that Taliban are holding Ali Haider Gillani and Shahbaz Taseer as captives near the Pak-Afghan border, whereas efforts are being made for their release.
Commenting on security of prisons in Punjab, he stated that after an operation in North Waziristan security at different prisons needs not to be tightened further.
Rana told that a prison at par with international standards will soon be constructed in Sahiwal, where dangerous prisoners will be detained.
Haider was abducted on May 9, 2013 while he was campaigning in his hometown of Multan in Punjab province for the elections. The kidnappers shot and killed his secretary and a bodyguard.
Shahbaz Taseer was abducted from Lahore on 26 August, 2011. He had left his house from Cavalry Ground in his silver Mercedes Kompressor (LZT-1) for his office around 10:15am.
Kidnapers had demanded a hefty ransom from the family against his release.
