All religions teach peace, harmony: Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the teachings of Jesus (A.S) are a beacon of light for the entire humanity, ARY News reports.
He was speaking at a Christmas ceremony organized by the Christian Community at Governor's House here on Saturday. Officials of the community as well as provincial ministers were also present on the occasion.
Prime Minister said that the name of Jesus (A.S) will remain as long as the world continues to live. He said that the origins of the two religions, Islam and Christianity, are the same according to the teachings of the Holy Quran.
The Premier further said that all the religions teach the lesson of peace and harmony. He further expressed his happiness of attending the ceremony on the occasion.
Speaking against the religious intolerance, PM Nawaz said that certain elements use religion for their personal benefits. He added that the deviated people create mischief amongst the people in the name of religion.
Further speaking on the occasion, he said that the people attacking the churches in Peshawar do not represent the masses of the country.
"It is the violation of the constitution of Pakistan to discriminate people on religious grounds", he added.
