Alleged blasphemy: Three killed in Gujranwala mob attack

 GUJRANWALA: The angry mob on late Sunday set on fire a house of a boy, whom they charged with posting blasphemous pictures on a social media website. Three people including two children were killed in its wake, ARY News reported.

Local residents of Race Course area, Gujranwala, went berserk when a boy of the same neghbourhood allegedly published sacrilegious pictures on a Facebook page, sparking tension in the area.

The mob besieged the house of a boy and set it on fire, resulting deaths of a woman and two children who died of suffocation. Six others were also injured in the mob attack. Those killed were identified as Bashiran, 55, a minor girl Kianat and 7-year-old Hira.

Heavy contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned off the area, however clash had already taken its toll on the area by that time.
