Altaf condemns arrest of PAT workers in Punjab
LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has condemned the arrest of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers in Punjab with strong words, ARY News reports.
In a statement, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said that it the people responsible for the Model Town incident should be arrested instead PAT workers are being arrested instead and they are being subjected to state terrorism.
Altaf Hussain said that the government is crushing its opposition during the time when Pakistan Army is at war against terrorists and the country needs to be united.
MQM Chief said that welcoming a party leader on his return to the country and holding processions and rallies is a democratic right of the people. He said that using power against anyone or denying the right is undemocratic.
He added that the arrest of PAT workers should be stopped immediately.
