ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said the matter of issuance of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to MQM chief Altaf Hussain has been made an issue, ARY News reported.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Nisar said government had no advantage if Altaf was denied his passport and NICOP.“Do not blame us if Altaf Hussain did not apply for passport in last 22 years,” said Nisar.

He said the issue had been made more complicated. He said MQM chief must give some time and, “We will send team another time to his place in London for data collection.”

Replying to a question, the interior minister said two meetings were held with the Taliban committee and venue is to be decided for the talks.

He said government had clear objective that next phase of talks should be decisive.
