Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard’s physical abuse allegations have been negated by her own personal stylist, lending strength to Depp’s $50mn defamation suit against his former wife.
Samantha McMillen says that actress had told her while going on a talk show that she had two black eyes, allegedly due to Depp. But McMillen says she saw her the same day and her face was uninjured.
Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife after she penned an op-ed in the Washington Post where she didn’t name the actor but alluded to the timeline of their 2016 split when she accused the actor of domestic abuse.
“Two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out,” Heard wrote on Dec. 18, 2018.
McMillen, not just another stylist in Hollywood, has dressed Brie Larson for her Avengers: Endgame press tour and premieres, as well as her co-star Chris Hemsworth.
With this testimony, Depp has found himself a new ally in his defamation suit against his ex-wife.
In the legal paperwork, McMillen details working with Heard on the day of an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden and says she did not see any visible injuries.
Heard later claimed in a June 2016 interview with PEOPLE that Johnny had beat her the night before on Dec. 15, 2015.
McMillen, according to legal documents said she spent much of the day and evening working with Amber Heard on December 16, 2015, preparing her for interview on the James Corden Show.
She says that she saw her throughout that day “in good light”, “at close range”, “wearing no makeup”. She says that she could clearly see that Heard did not have any visible marks, cuts, injuries or bruises to her face or any other part of the body and she was in a condition so well that she appeared on the show that day.
She said that after the show, Heard said to her: “Can you believe me I just did that show with two black eyes?”
McMillen says she did not have any black eyes and had been visibly uninjured throughout the day and at that moment.
She says that she later learned that Heard had accused Johnny Depp in court and in media that he had subjected her to assault on the previous night i.e December 15, 2015.
