ISLAMABAD: The report on amended anti-terrorism bill submitted in National Assembly on Friday, ARY News reports.
According to the bill the court will conduct daily hearing of cases and will decide them within seven days. In case the court fails to decide the matter within time it will be brought to the notice of the high court. The proposed law further said that no official will be held responsible if an accused die during the interrogation.
Under the new law the hearing of case could also be conducted in jail or through video link.
The bill also prohibits use of mobile phones by prisoners in jails and ensures protection of witnesses.
The draft of the bill said that the case could be transferred to another court for the sake of protection of judges, witnesses and prosecutors with approval of the chief justice of the high court.
