KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shehla Raza on Saturday strongly condemned what she termed “extremely foul language” used by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Amir Liaquat against PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, ARY News reported.

Speaking during ARY News talk show Aiteraz Hai‘, Shehla Raza took a jab at rival PTI leader Ali Zaidi by saying that PTI picked Amir Liaquat soon after Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) ordered authorities to pick Karachi’s garbage, adding that they should stop him from using foul language against women.

“You picked Amir Liaquat when (CJP) ordered to lift Karachi’s garbage but now you should control its smell, what kind of language he (Amir Liaquat) is using against Maryam Nawaz… we may have a lot of differences with Maryam but the language he (Amir) used is condemnable,” said Shehla Raza.

The PPP leader also condemned the use of similar language against PPP leader Faryal Talpur by PTI chief Imran Khan.

“It (the use of such language) means, the accusation that their party has no respect for women is correct, their party women’s grievances are genuine,” concluded the PPP leader.

Last month, popular television personality and religious scholar Amir Liaquat formally announced to join Imran Khan-led  PTI in a press conferene in Karachi.

Addressing media alongside party chief Imran Khan, Amir Liaquat announced that he feels PTI is the right place for “his brand of politics”.

A powerful orator, Amir Liaquat has been criticizing party’s opponents on social media and in party rallies since then.
