According to ARY News, Amir Malik was heading to his native city Dera Ismail Khan in a car last night when this untoward incident took place. Three others in the car sustained minor injuries.
He had been associated with ARY News for the past 5 years. In his role as the producer of the program ‘Off the record’, he was responsible for all the coordination and research work required for the program.
Kashif Abbasi, anchor of the program Off the record, said that Amir was a great program maker and a key member of the show while Arshad Sharif anchor of another ARY talk show Powerplay said he was a “huge talent” and his death is a terrible shock.
Director ARY News Mahboob Abdul Rauf while expressing sympathy with the bereaved family said “our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time”.
Friends and colleagues describes Amir as “one of the brilliant and finest journalists.”
